Terms
Last updated 31 October 2026
What you can expect from us, and what we ask of you, when you order a film.
1. Who we are
These terms are an agreement between you and [company name, registered address](“Kids Own Story”, “we”). By creating an account or ordering a film you accept them.
2. Who can order
You must be an adult who can give consent on behalf of the child in the film — their parent, legal guardian, or someone they have authorised. You’re responsible for keeping your email account secure, since that is how you sign in.
3. The photo you give us
- Only a photo of a child you can consent for, with one clear face.
- You confirm you have the right to use the photo and give us permission to use it to make your film, as described in the privacy policy.
- We may decline a photo — for example if no clear face is found. That costs you nothing, and you can send another one for the same order.
4. Ordering and paying
The price is shown before you pay. Paying does two things: it buys the film, and it confirms your consent for the child’s photo to be used. Nothing is made before you pay.
A film usually takes one to three hours. Some films are checked by a person before they’re released; they show as “Being checked” meanwhile.
Refunds: [refund rule — e.g. a full refund if the film can’t be made; what happens if you cancel before it starts]. Your statutory rights are not affected.
5. Your film
You can watch and download the film and keep it for personal, non-commercial use — family, friends, your own devices and channels. [Licence scope to confirm: e.g. no resale, no commercial use].
The stories, characters’ art direction and music remain ours or our licensors’. We won’t use your child’s film or likeness to promote Kids Own Story without asking you separately.
Films are made with AI tools. We work to make the character look and feel like your child, but the result is an illustration, not a photograph, and may differ from what you imagined.
6. Keeping and deleting
Films stay in your account for [30 days] after they’re ready, or until you delete them — download anything you want to keep. Deleting a film erases it completely and can’t be undone.
7. Fair use
- Don’t upload photos of anyone you can’t consent for, or images that are unlawful or harmful.
- Don’t try to access other people’s films or accounts, or interfere with the service.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and refuse an order we reasonably believe does.
8. Our responsibility
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. [Limitation of liability, to be drafted by counsel for the governing jurisdiction]. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited.
9. Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms; the version shown when you order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the law of [jurisdiction]. Contact: [support@ email].
